About Us // Community Traffic Safety Program

Formerly known as Safe Communities Programs, the new Community Traffic Safety Programs (CTSPs) will focus primarily on traffic safety in each region.  There are currently nine CTSP Administrators located throughout North Dakota that are available to help you promote traffic safety.

The CTSP will serve to positively change the behavior of motor vehicle drivers and occupants as it relates to seat belt use, impaired driving, distracted driving and speed within each service region to assist the North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) to achieve the state’s established performance goals in these areas as follows:

  • Decrease the number of North Dakotans killed in motor vehicle crashes;

  • Decrease the number of alcohol-related motor vehicle fatalities;

  • Decrease the number of speeding-related fatalities;

  • Increase seat belt use.
